
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia. Mikael Salomon (born February 24, 1945 in Copenhagen, Denmark) is a Danish filmmaker, cinematographer of The Abyss (1989) and Backdraft (1991), and director of Band of Brothers (2001).
After a long cinematography career in Danish cinema, he went to Hollywood in the late 1980s and has remained highly prolific there, first as cinematographer, later as television director. He has been Oscar nominated twice.
