Fritz-Olof Thunberg was a Swedish stage and screen actor and director. He graduated from the Royal Dramatic Theatre's acting school in 1953. He appeared in a variety of films, often in a supporting role as a confident charmer, and is the voice of both Bamse and Agaton Sax in children's films and recordings.

In the hallucinatory opening sequence she is brought in a straitjacket by her husband and two psychiatric nurses through the Venice Carnival nocturnal antics to a mental hospital in the city. With her is a manuscript of her autobiography, which she calls "her child".
