David's acting career began in 2017 when he played the lead role of Steven Knight in the student short film The Fence. The film gained popularity on social media platform Youtube and went on to win the British International Film Festival's British Lion Award. Following its success, The Fence was adapted into a full-length feature film with the same title. The Fence (2022)
The story kicks off on Hartcliffe council estate in Bristol during the early 1980s. It follows Steven Knight, a working-class boy who has his motorbike stolen the day he buys it. Teaming up with his scoundrel friends he desperately tries to track it down before it's gone for good.
